In the Community: Laborers’ Local 332 Members Volunteer To Help Our Kids

Our members at Laborers’ Local 332 are special! They’re hard working and always willing to sacrifice time and efforts for the community and the children! So when Philadelphia Councilman Bobby Henon needed a hand, it’s no surprised that he reached out to Local 332. With the Tacony library branch closing down in the Northeast’s 6th Distict, a new temporary place is needed for the kids of the community.
“Mr Henon gave me a call and said they needed some help with a place that is going to be used as an Art/Computer Center for the kids in the neighborhood,” said Vice-President John McCarty of Local 332. “I asked the Business Manager Sam Staten Jr., and he said “Anything for the kids”, so here we are.”
As a result, two of our 332 members, Micheal Majzik and James Leroy Brown, volunteered to do the necessary demolition of the building to get it ready. This is simply another example of the kind of work that our members are willing to do in the community. Laborers’ Local 332 is a Union that will always be committed to helping our youth and serving our community.
